In coordination with the University of Petra, Al al-Bayt University, and the UNHCR in Jordan, I co-train Syrian and Jordanian participatory action researchers in social science research methods. The aim is to create space for community-led research and initiatives in Zaatari camp and Mafraq city.

The Arab Spring 10 Years On: The Jordan Workshop (2021)

The Jordan Workshop invited young Jordanians to reflect on their country's changing political climate. I moderated the discussion, which reflected on new forms of citizenry, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic prospects, and narratives of the so-called Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan.

Art Exhibition with Syrian Artist

What the War Did to Our Memories, University of Cambridge (2019)

As President of the Cambridge Migration Society, I organised a two-month-long public exhibition of the artwork of Diala Brisly. After challenging an initial visa rejection by the Home Office, we were able to host Diala in Cambridge for the exhibition's opening. The exhibition has connected Diala to more opportunities in the UK, where she has since been invited to exhibit her work at other institutions. Through this and similar events, the CMS has been driving important discussions on migration in the city of Cambridge since 2015.
